2020/24hrs on Foundry Laundry Radio is a livestream and locally broadcast performance by the Jean Couteau collective, that began at the stroke of midnight, June 30th, and continuing for twenty-four hours until midnight, July 1st. With a unique approach to pop compositions, long samples, poetry, memes, and featuring guest appearances, the JC performance is designed to honor the tradition of radio culture, of foley artists, of ASMRtists, and the endurance form of the telethon. Foundry Laundry Radio is an ultra-local participatory pirate radio broadcast from within the Darling Foundry.
2020/24hrs is designed to sit on the nerve between analog and digital. It is meant to inhabit a musical and performative practice that straddles the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, in both feeling and form, creating a false nostalgia tailored for the social media zombies.
